Current Transformers for Nepal

Nepal's industry is concentrated in the Birgunj-Hetauda corridor, the Biratnagar belt and the Kathmandu valley. Hydropower is expanding, but voltage fluctuation remains common, so factories rely on robust transformers, stabilising buck boost units and UPS systems.

VA Electricals designs and manufactures toroidal current transformers at its works in Bhosari, Pune. Every unit is built to your voltages and rating and tested in-house, then packed for export to buyers in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and across Nepal.

Matched to the Nepal supply

Rated for 230 V single-phase / 400 V three-phase, 50 Hz systems, with ratios selected to suit your meters, relays and protection scheme.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What Does a Current Transformer Do?

A current transformer (CT) produces a secondary current proportional to the current in a primary conductor, so meters, relays and controllers can measure high currents safely. VA Electricals makes toroidal CTs, whose ring shape uses space and material efficiently to give compact, accurate and cost-effective units.

In Nepal, our CTs feed energy meters, protection relays and monitoring systems in LT panels, inverters and power electronics.

APPLICATIONS IN NEPAL

Where Our Current Transformers Are Used in Nepal

Cement & Building Materials

Cement and building-material plants in Hetauda and the Terai run mills, kilns and large motors.

Typical use: Current measurement for metering, protection and energy monitoring.

Steel, Foundry & Metals

Steel re-rolling and wire mills in Birgunj and Biratnagar run furnaces and heavy drives.

Typical use: Current measurement for metering, protection and energy monitoring.

Food & Beverage

Food, beverage and noodle plants serve the domestic market.

Typical use: Current measurement for metering, protection and energy monitoring.

Control Panel Builders

Panel builders in Kathmandu and Birgunj supply industry and hydropower projects.

Typical use: Metering and protection inputs for LT panels and energy meters.

Hydro & Solar Power

Hydropower, solar and off-grid systems need power-conversion equipment.

Typical use: Current sensing in solar inverters and combiner panels.

Hospitals & Healthcare

Hospitals and diagnostic centres rely on UPS and isolation transformers.

Typical use: Current sensing in medical and diagnostic equipment.

ENGINEERED FOR LOCAL CONDITIONS

Built for Humid, Fluctuating Supply

Factories in Nepal deal with monsoon humidity, voltage fluctuation and frequent changeover to captive generators. Windings are oven-baked for moisture resistance, and ratings are chosen with margin for supply swings.

  • Compact toroidal construction
  • Ratios matched to meters and relays
  • Accurate, repeatable output
  • Window size to suit your busbar or cable
