A buck boost transformer raises (boosts) or lowers (bucks) the supply voltage by a small amount so equipment receives the voltage it is designed for. Because it only handles the correction voltage, it is far smaller and more economical than a full isolation transformer for the same load.
For sites in the UAE where the supply sits a little above or below what equipment is rated for, a buck boost transformer corrects the voltage economically, without a full-size transformer.
